Share the joy of reading

A veritable ritual, the storytime is central to a visit to the museum. The children gather round, sing the magic formula and open the story trunk... The reading-show, performed by two voices, is accompanied by sound effects and props. Children are captivated, and many parents leave with the desire to read more at home.

Discover our different formats

Our troupe of Raconteurs d'histoires is made up of professional actors, trained in reading aloud and directed by stage director Lou Lefevre. We offer a range of Storytime formats for adults and special readings for babies, as well as musical readings!

Storytime

At the heart of each house, the ritual of the reading-show brings the children together, in a circle under the moon or in the little theater. The magic formula is chanted, the story trunk is opened, and off we go for twenty minutes of storytelling led by our Raconteurs d'histoires.

Baby reading

Here, there's no need to sit up straight - on the contrary!
Babies are allowed to crawl, explore, touch, look, babble, play... and, above all, experience books at their own pace. At the heart of this gentle bubble: a reading-show by Les Raconteurs d'histoires, with tender, colorful, sonorous and poetic albums designed for the very young.

Musical readings

Have you heard of our musical readings?
Using a book as a starting point, Léa and Antoine take us on a half-hour of swing and sweetness: we sing, we dance, accompanied by guitar, piano or flute. We're counting on you to join in the rhythm!

The story tent

Our storytellers share their passion for books both inside and outside our walls: Salon du Livre Jeunesse de Montreuil, Hangar Y, Festival du livre de Paris etc... La Maison des histoires travels thanks to its magnificent story tent!

Our meeting cycle

La Maison des parents is a meeting place for grown-ups to share, exchange, learn and be inspired, always with books at the heart. We sit down at the café and chat with an exceptional guest in a relaxed, friendly format.

Edition #1: HOW DO WE READ TO OUR BABIES?
To open this new format, we are delighted to welcome the great Belgian author Jeanne Ashbé, who has devoted her entire career to creating books for the very young. She knows babies like no one else, and above all she explores for us the way babies read, their relationship to the music of words and images. Come and meet her, she's a rare person.

Course: 1-hour discussion with Jeanne Ashbé, followed by a drink and signing session :)
