"In English" Wednesdays at Maison Bastille

February 4 to March 8
It’s THE new feature for the start of the school year: Every Wednesday, Maison Bastille invites you to join in on fun, game-based English language introduction sessions. How? With an experienced and utterly charming team from the English-speaking world. Games throughout the facility help kids learn vocabulary without even realizing it. Plus, there’s a bilingual “storytime” full of interactive fun. It all starts on September 16! Why not make this your Wednesday activity?
LET'S GO

Musical performance on the Nanna houseboat

Join us for a one-of-a-kind musical show, following in the footsteps of Richie, a little pony who rides to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower! Unfortunately, when he arrives in the capital, the Eiffel Tower is closed. Darn! Richie will then discover 1,001 other surprises in the most beautiful city in the world. The show includes a snack and a game booklet for a stroll through the Notre-Dame neighborhood.

Discover our different formats

Our troupe of storytellers is made up of professional actors, trained in reading aloud and directed by stage director Lou Lefevre. We offer several types of shows for adults, babies, and even musical readings!

Baby reading

Here, there's no need to sit up straight—quite the opposite!
We let babies crawl, explore, touch, look, babble, play... and above all, experience books at their own pace. At the heart of this gentle bubble: a show designed for little ones, based on tender, colorful, musical, poetic picture books.

For babies aged 9 to 36 months
At our two locations, Chantelivre and Bastille

Musical readings

Have you heard of our musical storytime sessions?
Based on a book, Léa and Antoine take us on a half-hour journey of swing and gentle melodies: we sing and dance, accompanied by a guitar, a piano, or a flute. We’re counting on you to clap along in unison!

For all siblings, ages 1 to 6!
At Chantelivre only
Upcoming dates: June 17, July 1, July 31.

The story tent

Our storytellers share their passion for books both inside and outside our walls: Salon du Livre Jeunesse de Montreuil, Hangar Y, Festival du livre de Paris etc... La Maison des histoires travels thanks to its magnificent story tent!
To find out more, or to invite the story tent to an event, write to us at

Our meeting cycle

La Maison des parents is a gathering of grown-ups to share, exchange, learn and be inspired, always with books at the heart. We sit down at the café and chat with an exceptional guest in a relaxed, friendly format.
