La Maison des histoires is a project run by l'école des loisirs, a century-old independent publishing house committed to serving all children!

Making books a land of adventure!

We believe that children instinctively know how to choose the stories they need: those that make them laugh, fear, think and dream. Les trois brigands, Max et les Maximonstres, Chien Bleu, Petit-bleu Petit-Jaune... and so many other books have this ambition: to be companions of their childhood, to surprise and resonate for a long time.
With la Maison des histoires, our mission is to offer all children a place where books become alive, familiar and welcoming.

A home for all children

Welcoming all children is at the heart of our project. Every year, our solidarity ticket sales fund free visits for 1,000 children who are far from books via their REP or REP+ classes, or who are accompanied by associations such as Samu social and Refettorio Paris.
La Maison des histoires is a social economy enterprise.

A unique collective project

They say it takes a village to raise a child - it probably takes just as much to build a House of Stories!
Authors, workers, publishers, carpenters, scenographers, graphic artists, designers, architects, illustrators, actors, booksellers... a constellation of talents united around a common project, sometimes with folly but always with passion!
