"Family" sessions

Open to everyone! Our family sessions include playtime and a storytime performance featuring picture books suitable for children ages 2 to 7. The theme changes every month! Our storytellers take turns reading in two voices, complete with sound effects and magical props...

"Baby" sessions

Here, we let babies crawl, explore, babble… and, above all, experience books at their own pace. A storytime performance featuring tender and poetic picture books, designed for babies aged 9 to 36 months. Plus, playtime in the shared spaces for little ones!
Every Wednesday and Friday morning

"In English" sessions

Every Wednesday, we offer English-language introduction sessions featuring games in our facilities to help children learn vocabulary without even realizing it. We also have a bilingual “storytime” filled with interactive activities.
Mornings for babies and afternoons for older children!

Practical info

Address: 7 Cité de la Roquette, Paris 11th arrondissement – The house is air-conditioned!

Open Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and then from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Duration of the visit: 2 hours, including a 25-minute show. Recommended for children ages 1 to 7. There is a bookstore, a café, and a small theater.

The Wednesday and Friday morning storytimes are for babies. All Wednesday sessions are bilingual (English and French) (starting September 16)

Welcome, babies!

Babies are also welcome at Maison Bastille! They can join their older brothers and sisters during the “family” sessions or come for a quiet time on Wednesday and Friday mornings during the sessions set aside just for them. During these sessions, storytime is tailored for children aged 9–36 months with a selection of age-appropriate picture books. On-site amenities include: stroller parking, a changing table, a high chair, baby food jars, and more.

‍In large format or paperback, plush or board games, all the heroes of l'école des loisirs are here... enough to leave with a lovely souvenir or complete your library.
